Today, the first day of this live journal, we are going to be looking at the best internet security softwares and suites for Windows of 2013. Although it is fairly close to the end of the year, it is good to get a roundup of the top software as the price will go down when newer versions come out. I have had a look at the top picks of the year and will talk about what I think of them in this post.

I've narrowed it down to the top three. The third best, in my opinion, is Norton Internet Security.
It has all the features you would be looking for like an antivirus, firewall, anti-spam and anti-phishing features, rootkit protection and much more. The only feature it is missing is a virtual keyboard, which can be required if you have a keylogger on your PC, but because of the quality of everything in the suite, we can go without on this one. I have rated this one a

The second best, which I am too giving a
4.5/5, is going to be Kaspersky Internet Security. Kaspersky is a great choice for internet security and virus protection. They seem to have much less false-positives than some other anti-viruses, and provide brilliant firewall capabilities. It is not missing the virtual keyboard and has everything you might want from such software. You can buy this from the Kaspersky website at

Number one, for me, is going to be Bitdefender Internet Security. At a cheap price, outstanding feature list, and unbeatable performance, this is the one to get if you haven’t already. It has each and every feature of all security suites and is the best all round for detections and protections.
